We interviewed Vibrant. Vibrant is the first NFT art exhibition held in Rosario, Argentina. It will take place on June 24 and 25, and it's possible thanks to the support of the DFINITY Foundation. The event proposes to generate a dialogue between the classic and the modern, which is why it will be held at the Museo Municipal Juan B. Castagnino, one of Argentina's most historical fine arts museums.

1. Please tell us about you, your name, project position, credentials, etc., so we can introduce you.

Hey everyone, thanks for the invite. Super cool to be here!!

Ricardo Capuz here. I'm a system engineer and motoko dev with the biggest love on earth for the IC and all the things this community will bring to the world.

I have multiple projects focused on IC development like Elementum and Prixelart, and some Grants for it, working 24/7 to deliver awesome things to the community. I'm DFINITY en español and vibrant co-founder but for me, it's super important to highlight that the initiative came to life thanks to Esteban Suarez (vibrant founder) and his relationship with the cultural movement in Argentina.

Esteban is also the founder of DFINITY en español, and he's focused on spreading the word of the Internet Computer to the Hispanic world but also introducing its benefits to government structures and organizations to boost massive use.

2. How would you describe your artistic style?

The artist behind the collection is Mauri Dinelli. My artistic style is digital art made from photo manipulation and retouching, mixed with college and post-production of images.

3. What drew you to NFT creation rather than traditional canvas-based art?

It is a collection highlighting NFT art as a gateway to this world. Since the exhibition was born first, it was only logical that we do everything in our power to immerse ourselves in a total experience.

In any case, Mauri was already working digitally on other works of art.

4. Are there any artists who have inspired you? What do you like about their work?

What inspires me, in general, is design. I am a designer, and all the baggage of images and aesthetics that circulate today in the networks and with all the previous baggage of traditional art. There is not something specific; it's a mixture of everything I see and what I like.

5. What made you create NFTs?

As we said before, we felt we could not limit ourselves to hosting an exhibit only. We had to put our hands in the clay and make our own experience, giving more value to Vibrant and NFT art. On top of that, what Mauri did is beautiful.

6. Can you tell us about your project?

I will take the time to first introduce vibrant as an exhibit in order to better understand the framework from which these diamonds are born:

Vibrant is the first NFT art exhibition held in Rosario, Argentina. It will take place on June 24 and 25, and it's possible thanks to the support of the DFINITY Foundation. The event proposes to generate a dialogue between the classic and the modern, which is why it will be held at the Museo Municipal Juan B. Castagnino, one of Argentina's most historical fine arts museums.

For us, vibrant is synonymous with movement and dynamism. And that's what we wanted to show. But it is also synonymous with bright, which introduces us to the world of our Vibrant Diamond Collection: A limited collection of exclusive diamonds with fine details, majestic sparkles, and a history that is still being written.

7. How many NFTs will be minted? Can you talk us through the process of how you create the art?

If we can follow along with the story, it is believed that the collection originally possessed 1,000 diamonds. Of which 151 are lost. There are 849 left of which something more is known; there are traces of where they were, and they are the ones we hope people will want to discover this June 24.

In the words of the artist: the process of creating the diamonds has something particular; it is a good idea to think of it as a collective process. It's not an artist who sets out to do his own work.

The diamonds express an idea and a narrative related to the exhibition. Because they are the diamonds that give a sparkle to the exhibition and in that sense, what I like the most is to have created a unique piece with all the possibilities that NFTs offer, with the multiple layers that generate the volume of the collection. 8. Will people be able to breed, stake, rent your NFT, or will it ever be in a game or be a DAO?

In our minds is the desire to make a DAO, but we cannot yet get our heads around it. Our time is short, and we have a lot of things to do to secure the event and launch.

9. What benefits do you think the Internet Computer has over other L1 blockchains when it comes to creating NFTs?

Mainly its cost and speed. However, our team has been working on developing Internet Computer in Latin America, and we consider that the value of the #ICP community is amazing. Of course (time to throw flowers) with communities like yours!

So we are very sure that the value of working on Internet Computer is immeasurable.

10. What other art have you seen that excites you in the Internet Computer NFT ecosystem?

I like Boxy Dude, and we recently did some research on the Flower Power DAO, and even though it is not ONLY art, it seems to be a very interesting and necessary project.

11. What excites you most about your launch, and which date is your launch?

As we said before, the event and the NFT launch are on the same day. June 24 will be the launch at 7 PM UTC, and there will be a whitelist window one hour before. So the level of anxiety we are dealing with is very high, and of course, it is not just for one thing.

12. Do you have further plans to work with ICP Squad in the future after this initial sale?

Of course, hopefully, vibrant (or DfinityEs) paths will cross much more often.

13. Can you envisage a future where the most valuable NFT space is on the Internet Computer?

I don't know if the word is anticipated, but I believe that we will do everything in our power to make the most valuable space IC, as it is for us today, and we want it to be for as many people as possible.

14. Why do you think NFTs have become so valuable in such a short space of time?

I think it's a mix of things. On the one hand, the weariness of traditional ways became obsolete in many aspects. This is art for everyone, not only those who could make an exhibition because they could pay for their own ticket or because they had an acquaintance. What the NFT world allows is that there are more and more artists promoting their works of art and that this has a scope that will enable it to be a profitable activity. And the value of being able to prove ownership of our creations is a significant milestone in the art world.

15. Tell us about your team?

Esteban Suarez is the founder and CEO of vibrant. Then with Matias Trovant, we are co-founders and executive directors. The visual artistic part of the whole project (exhibition and NFT) is only done by Mauri Dinelli. The team also has other work areas: press, event production, and writing. Some people work on specific aspects; they come in and out of it, let's say.

16. What advantages do you believe you have over other competitors?

In this case, we believe that we stand out because our NFT is not just a collection but the beginning of an international event that seeks to plant a flag in this, not just NFTs trying to gain value in themselves (which they already have, of course).

It is something more significant that today is done in Argentina only because it is the place where most of the team members are, but that clearly can expand and therefore make the NFT more valuable. Of course, we think about enlarging the series for each event and being able to add utilities, but these are the next steps.

But from the point of view of our NFT, owning a diamond was synonymous with exclusivity, and owning a Vibrant Diamond is to be part of a story that, as you can see, is much bigger and will be revealed over time.

17. Do you have any partners? Please tell us about them

For the exhibition we have partners such as Dfinity (Grant Award), Catalyze, Distrikt, Capa Fountation, Polo Tecnológico Rosarino.

All of them, in one way or another, are key players in the project. Of course, their contribution makes it possible for us to offer an event of the highest quality.

18. Tell us about the challenges you have faced while building your project?

All of them. We don't want to be repetitive, but it's not an everyday thing to organize an international event in conjunction with the launch of an NFT. Even the smallest details are part of a team's research. Of course, we knew what it was all about; each part of the team has experience in their field, but creating something new and of such a size is always a challenge. And it's not over, and we still have a long way to go.

19. What are your short and long-term achievements and targets?

In the short term, we want the collection to be as well known as the exhibition, which had an incredible reception in the NFT world. In the long term, we would like to generate profits for the holders with new layers for their Vibrant Diamonds or treasure hunts.

20. Give us some details about your roadmap?

There's a huge thing with our case...most of the NFT projects launch their collection, and after months, they generate some value with games, apps, or so. We're doing it backwards; the event is ready, it will be on June 24th, and it's already a success. And at the same time as the event, we launched the NFT. For now, our diamonds are looking to be an object of value for its beauty, to collect many, and to have more chances to find the rarest diamonds.

In the future, the things that will come will be great, but you will know everything when it'll be a reality, zero snake oil salesman.

21. Do you have any plans to expand into the Metaverse?

There is an idea about the metaverse, but we can't say it because it would spoil something we want to say in a few weeks.

22. Will your NFT be tokenized in the future?

We are not thinking about it yet, but it is a possibility.

23. What is behind these diamonds?

Diamonds are formed deep in the earth under extreme heat and pressure. They have different components that make them change colors, depending on how they react to those temperatures, defining their pigmentation.

They are then violently expelled upwards until they reach the earth's surface or close to it. Through this process, the Vibrant Diamonds retain a halo or aura because of their first contact with the outside: some are more friendly to exposure, and others are more resistant to coming out of hiding.

They are then cut and polished until their natural beauty shines through. And to protect them from any inclement weather or human carelessness, they were carefully framed by craftsmen using the most valuable material in the area where they were found.

History places them in different parts of the world; they have even crossed oceans and even the entire world to serve as trophies for influential leaders. Historians and archeologists have taken the trouble to take note of the most important places where some of them have been, from Minas Gerais to waterfalls in the interior of China.

It is not yet known which ones will be exhibited at the Castagnino Museum, and some say that they may be accompanied by certain gems that multiply their value. There are already rumors that collectors are behind this type of exotic diamond.
